I have had my full mtdna sequenced but had no matches with any users. I joined the W&N2a project and Mats Carlin, the admin sent me a message today which identified me under a new W3a1b subclade.
"I have placed you in W3a1b+T146C+T8477G/T16297C, which differs from FTDNA's designation....

West and Central European?
I’m a little confused for the Central European part, part of my map includes Croatia and Slovakia for Central Europe but in the site doesn’t include those two within the Central European report. I get 83% for that. But I get 3% Eastern European, which I know should be higher but on my map, the Central...

Why just full matches but no lower ones (HVR1&2, HVR1)
What might be the reason that a person has just full mtDNA matches (HVR1 & 2 plus coding region), but no lower matches at all (HVR1; HVR1&2). This is not quite logic.

Geno 2.0 mtDNA
I didn't see a Genographic thread and I have lots of questions. I primarily transferred my Geno 2.0 results so I could do Y-DNA STR testing, but it looks from my raw data file that the Geno 2.0 test includes a lot of mtDNA markers. Geno 2.0 shows my mtDNA HG as U4b1b1. When I look at the most current...

Adoptee story for TV Production
Family Tree DNA was contacted by a TV producer that would love to do an adoptee reunion made possible by DNA testing. The discovery would need to be fresh, i.e., separated siblings or an adoptee and birth parent who just found each other. A perfect situation might be one where they have talked but have...

Advanced Matching
I did a Family Finder test and the basic MtDNA which gave my haplogroup as H.
I'd hoped that if I ran 'Advanced Matching' and ticked both MtDNA and FF boxes, the result may well be a clue as to which FF matches might be of my mother's mother's etc family.
Trouble...

Family Finder + mtFullSequence - worth it?
I was thinking of taking the Family Finder test. I had an autosomal test done by AncestrybyDNA and I think it would be interesting to confirm the results. I know you can choose to combine the Family Finder test with an mtDNA , mtDNAPlus or mtFullSequence test. Is it really worth it to have the Full...

mtDNA Results from 23andMe
Last year, when 23andMe reduced their price for Christmas, I paid for my dad to be tested through them. I knew they didn't test Y-STRs, but I already had my results from FTDNA. He's interested in genealogy (but not obsessed like me), and I thought the health aspect would be useful too.
