Is there a way to view on a Mac? I filled in the info as requested and it opened a page that said "loading," showing what looked like it might be a QuickTime symbol. Then it disappeared to a black screen. Tried it a couple times, same thing.

Variety of spellings and sounds
In the responses to your question I haven't noticed anyone suggesting that the name "Mutyar" on the marriage license might be very different from the name she was born with in Lithuania. After all, her given name, "Josephine,"...

Sigh! Linda, what you say makes sense. I currently manage three FF accounts, including my own, and each of us has about 600 matches (because we are Ashkenazim). Despite having not-bad paper trails for the past few generations (not great, either), we haven't been able to confirm a single one, even...

So interesting! So looking at things the way Dwight originally described, how many SNPs are enough to view without skepticism?

Thanks for explanations
Thanks to Javelin for explaining that there have been problems here and that this situation is, indeed, highly improbable. I await the corrections.

Null values loci 26 - 36
Hello,
The 26 - 37 markers just were posted for my Uncle Lou, whose DNA account I manage.
Loci 26 - 36 (eleven markers) were all null. He had had 57 matches at 25 markers that were either exact, genetic distance one, or genetic distance two. He has zero matches at 37...

Thanks for arguing
Thank you, Matt, Kasandra, rivergirl, and others, who are arguing these things out. I appreciate the way you generally stick to issues on which you disagree (rather than ad hominem arguments, which seem to occur too often on the web) and try to make your points more...

Now I'm even more confused
Matt,
Thank you for your patient explanation. But now I'm even more confused.
Are you saying that I don't have 50% of my father's DNA and 50% of my mothers? That, instead, I could have 60% of my father's and...

I am part of Batch 400 and was finally converted at the end of last week. Since then I had a few new matches added. But there are many of my Affy matches - including close ones - that don't seem to have been converted yet. I was really expecting a big bunch soon.
(And, parenthetically:...

Not yet converted
Just to reassure you folks who aren't getting many former Affy matches under Illumina: I signed up for conversion on the first day, for myself and one other that I manage. Neither has been yet converted.
I must say: it's so hard waiting!...

Still waiting
I'm waiting impatiently for my results and my elderly cousin's results to be converted. My Uncle's sample was in the first Illumina batch (a new sample, not a conversion). I want to triangulate among the three of us. Cousin Ida and I are batch 400 and...
