I have been away from the FTDNA Forum for a while but returned because I was looking for the batch calender forum also. It's gone??? It would be nice to have it back! I really liked being able to follow the batches and see when folks started getting their results so I knew mine were soon to be ready...

Funny you should mention that! I received a "new" old Affy match I lost in 2011 during the Affy-Illumina upgrade also. The match date for the "new" match is 8/2/5/10.
I am not contacting anyone until FTDNA gets the bugs fixed....

It would also be helpful if when looking at all our match results, we could have a "U" symbol or asterisk of something denoting which matches are 23andMe uploads so I can tell them apart from any direct FTDNA kit matches. 23andMe does not always show a name for a match so I cannot cross reference...

Because you are an adoptee, there is a very good group you can join called AdoptionDNA at Yahoogroups dot com where you can ask questions and get advice on the appropriate DNA tests to take depending on what you are trying to find out. They will also help you understand your results. Becoming a member...

Still some bugs to be worked out
There are a few bugs that need to be worked out regarding the new matches so folks should wait a few days for FTDNA to address these and refine before considering that your results are in their final form. I understand that they are aware and working...

When Richard talks about "siblingship tests" he is not referring to autosomal DNA testing like Family Finder or Relative Finder, I believe he is talking about the over the counter tests or inexpensive ones that you can purchase from other companies. The numbers and types of markers tested...

Ann,
I am having trouble with the In Common With tool. When I choose ICW from the dropdown, it won't stay on that long enough for me to select the name I want, it jumos back to "show all matches". Is this related to all the other little quirks going on right now? I was able...

Carol Anne,
I have strange dates for some of my matches too. I have one NEW match who has a date of 7-6-11. I have some other ones that are dated more recent, and they have been my matches for longer than the new match date. Also, I was checking my new matches using the ICW tool, and...

I hate the fact that so many people on Ancestry do not use their real names, they have usernames, often ones that are not helpful. Can't really see if they are a FTDNA or 23 match as well. I also wish Ancestry would put the date the match came in like FTDNA does. The Ancestry database is growing...

Gaye,
They are messing around over at 23andMe also. Hopefully everything will get straightened out everywhere very soon.

nwgen,
Last new matches were on 6/7 for me also. I have 79 matches here to date, 527 at 23andMe, and 126 at Ancestry.com (new autosomal test in Beta testing). My closest predicted match is one 3rd cousin, here at FTDNA. I am really hoping for another 3rd, or even closer!

How Many Matches?, cont.
To date I have 79 matches. I figure that more of them are from my Irish/Dutch maternal side, and less from my Italian paternal side.
I have one Italian match who lists Igenea as their email address, and they never responded. I did get a reply...

Do you still have an extra coupon? If so, I have a FF match who wants to test another family member. I already donated the three I had to others.
Thank you,
Judy
