I have a match who is Y111 GD 8 & 12/635 difference with Big Y. He is E-BY78965 as are my 2 Big Y matches.They both have Cornish connections . One of those is at Yfull and shares the terminal hg E- Y45878 with me. He is listed as a close STR match i.e 0.031 14/455 difference

I am not doubting your info on the Orkneys but this falls on the basis that the Flett ancestry is on my maternal side, and these happen to be matches on my paternal side....

I mean I can trace all 32 of my 3gt grandparents but after that it gets very patchy. Having said that my maternal side especially my mother's maternal side is less patchy.

There is only one known line(I only know fully up to 3gt), the Fletts, that may have come from Norway in the mists of time- Norway ?-Orkneys - Banffshire.

My origins gives me 6% .Updated Ancestry none. 23andMe 4.8%. My heritage paid 11.4%.

I can understand how frustrating it is. I have a relatively rare surname,Gatty, but have one surname match at 37 markers with GD of 2. I have tried in vain several times to get them to upgrade their Y/do Family finder,even offering to pay for it , to no avail.
It's really frustrating as 37-2...

A lot of Europeans are getting small amounts of Nigerian. I've got 1.4% or so with various uploads. They had seemed to correct the problem but then decided to give people back the Nigerian!
