I did two SNP Packs to save money and ended up taking Big Y anyway....

Since Ysearch is an FTDNA creation, I would use their values. It has been so long, I don't recall which I used.
Be ready for an adventure getting into Ysearch. it is no longer supported and a bit flakey....

Ancestry used different reporting standards than FTDNA.
-5 is the correct conversion for DYS442. You should also see a difference on GATAH4 of -1. These are the only two on the Y37 panels.
There are two others, YGATAA10 (-2) and DYS441 (-1). I am not sure which panel these...

Y-111 Upgrade Offer
I just got and email from FTDNA offering an Y-111 upgrade for those who have done Big Y and Y-37/67 for $59/$39.
It says the link is specific to me and cannot be transferred. Expires 12/31.

I have not had any problems with email from FTDNA, but I know that my Verizon mail server is often down/unreachable, so could imagine a scenario where FTDNA email might hit it at the wrong time, bounce and blacklist an address....

I use a Chrome extension called DNArboretum. It was created to view native 23andMe trees, but seems to work with FTDNA trees. At least, for now. Select Ancestry View and the number of generations. It creates an easily readable ahnentafel chart....

Here I am guessing again, but I think the reason for requiring a Y test first is because that cost includes the DNA extraction. Y upgrades are less expensive for just this reason. It is likely that the cost of SNP testing presumes the DNA has already been prepared for testing. If not, I expect the individual...

I am not sure, but am guessing that the $12.95 would apply only if you used our regular mail service (USPS) and the extra $35 was because you used FedEx. Perhaps, others can comment....
