They sent me a photo that showed my family tree that you get when you click on it in the Family Finder results. I'm now thinking that it's actually from the Y results, and they were mistaken.
I ran my dad's kit on Gedmatch against my cousin's. The largest shared segment...

I received a new picture. Yes, my cousin can see my match, but I still can't see his. I asked if the save button wasn't clicked after selecting all the Yeses on the FF setting. It's been hours, and I haven't heard back. Perhaps tomorrow.

Or, the man I think is my father is really my son, which means I will have traveled back in time and become my grandfather. That hasn't happened yet, but I would know these DNA results when I eventually encounter the time machine and would know not to go back. However, at this point in my timeline the...

The results above are with the 3D Chromosome Browser.
A one-to-one with 1cM minimum says,
Largest segment = 5.2 cM
Total of segments > 1 cM = 1,209.1 cM...

I'll probably hear back tomorrow on that.
However, I ran us through Gedmatch. With a 3cM threshhold, it says: Total Shared: 55.4 cM. I have pages and pages of FTDNA matches in the 20s.
Oddly, my dad only matches him 41.7 cM. He's more related to me than he is to my dad....

The plot thickens.
I received a photograph of the new cousin's FF settings. They're all set to Yes. I still can't see the match in FF. I'm back to my original question.
Why can't I see him in FF? He's a 108/111 Y match. Same last name. Our paper trails meet in the same...

Why can't I see certain FF matches?
I searched for this various ways on the forums and through FTDNA help but couldn't find a post or answer about it.
I have a newly discovered cousin that tested within the past few months. He doesn't show up in my FF matches, just Y 108/111. (I also have a 111/111 match I can't see in...

Do you know how hard it is to find girls before 1850? he asked rhetorically. According to census records, there were very few of them!
But I'll certainly put more effort into that.

Thanks for the answers.
The ethnic group wasn't an ancestral population I was aware of, but it's one I'm happy to be associated with. Part of the adventure now is finding out how it became assimilated into my family.
Something that's been noticed by a better researcher...

The results are from Population Finder(geographical origin) run through Gedmatch(ethnic origin).
The real world situation is that I have PF results from two branches of the family from testers born in the early 1900s. One has an ~8% +/-2% match to an ethnic group. The other is assumed(I...

Can I reverse this DNA statistics chart?
About halfway down this page http://www.isogg.org/wiki/Autosomal_DNA_statistics is a color chart showing DNA inheritance. If I'm reading it correctly, I should have about 6.5% of my great-great grandfather's DNA. Can I reverse this chart to guess how much DNA from a certain group was present in a previous...
