I remember reading your posts about DYS393, ylgitn.
I just wonder is one of these "off by 1" markers is more important in determining my true closest type. I assume that sometimes certain DYS values carry more weight within haplotypes. Wish I knew if that was the case here...

Glad you were able to get an exact match. I came close to matching a couple of the patterns.
Haplotype #1: 19=15, 389i=13, 389ii=30, 390=23, 391=10, 392=11, 393=12
WhiteSocks#: 19=15, 389i=13, 389ii=29, 390=23, 391=10, 392=11, 393=12
I am only off on 389ii being 29 instead...

Welcome to the J2 haplogroup.
Here is a Rootsweb page on the J/J2 haplogroup that may be helpful. Scroll down past the four J haplotypes and check out the J2s. There are 24 types to compare your DYS numbers with.

I saw it mentioned briefly elsewhere that R1b in yDNA roughly correspond to H in mtDNA, but no source documentation was given. Would anyone knowledgeable care to comment on the validity of this information?
Thanks

I appreciate the responses. Good to get information from those more knowledgeable.

One more thing. Does anyone happen to know if there is a significant presence of H in Ireland/Scotland?
Thanks again.

I just found out from another post that the only slightly informative mutation is 195. At least I know that much now. Moving on....

mtDNA - H
I just found out my mtDNA haplogroup is H. I didn't get any values showing for HVR1, which just says "CRS".
My HVR2 values are:
1. 195C
2. 263G
3. 315.1C
4. 522-
5. 523-
I don't yet understand...

mtDNA - H
I just got my HVR1/HVR2 results back. I have learned quite a bit about yDNA, but am still not sure how to understand mtDNA. It appears that the H haplogroup has quite a few subclades. However, many of them are said to require more research to better resolve their distribution characteristics. I...

Hey J Man,
I just got one of my test results back and I'm DYS413=17-17. So far, I'm definitely J2a1. Cheers!
In The Y-Haplogroup J DNA Project, Bonnie put me in the J2a1k/Pre-k testing category. Still waiting on DYS445 for clarification.
Over and ou...

Out of curiosity, I compared my numbers to the KMH and the only difference between my DYS values and those listed above, is that my DYS19=15 instead of 14. Everything else matches. What would the significance of that be?...

I've only had the SNP Deep Haplogroup test with the following results:
M172+ M304+ M102- M12- M137- M158- M163- M166- M205- M267- M280- M339- M365- M367- M368- M369- M390- M47- M62- M67- M68- M92- M99-
Are there other deep SNP tests available, which you would recommend?...
