My wife has the following scores from the coloured rectangles. They seem to make sense because she's an mtdna M* (probably M1) and her closest matches are from Spain, Portugal, Azores and Italy (some British but they say the origins of those they tested are more Mediterranian).

My non-biological mother who adopeted me is Estonian and my adoptive dad is Finnish. My haplogroups are E1b1a1a2 which came from the Balkans and U5 which is generalized around the Atlantic rim (at least my nearest matches seem to be). Another strange thing is that my results were scheduled to come...

Here's one line ascending order. I used the same results in the European test and got quite strong numbers for Estonia:
Japanese (70) 2.35E+09
Chinese (33) 3.01E+09
Korean (43) 3.56E+09
Korean (2) 4.07E+09
Japanese2 (2) 4.68E+09
Macau, China (36) 5.14E+09...

Here's a sample of the results when I put my Autosomals on the coloured rectangles (note: on the map the majority of dark circles were in Asia).
Mozabites (Algeria) (31) 5.02E+11 68
Mozambique (32) 3.10E+12 21
Chinese (33) 3.01E+09 254
Majorcan (Spain) (34) 4.16E+11...

I'm really getting confused. I got my own autosomal scores and plugged them into Omnipop. First I got results only for the same scattered countries that my wife had. I actually scored higher for Albanians from Northern Italy than she did (both were our top scores). Later I tried to put in numbers on...

On the original Omnipop, Italians didn't even register--all zeros. Also, here's another result:
Oriya Brahmin (India) (61) 1.70E+18
Several Indian results had numbers on with +18 and +19 with very low decimalic numbers along with Argentina at 1.60E+18. Also there were...

Actually, there was nothing remarkable about the numbers in the France regions. The only other E 10 on the results page was the Balding and Nichols FST column for Netherlands.

small victory
Thanks for helping explain the confusion. The data I submitted to the European database showed only one small difference in the E#, again in Italy. It went the whopping distance from 11 to 10 on the Balding and Nichols FST and the NRC II Upper Bound Confidence Intervals....

Wife's Autosomals and Omnipop Scores
My wife's autosomals came in today. She tells folk she has a French/Italian background (what her adoptive parents told her). I put the results through Omnipop. Some larger scores of interest are: Madeira Archipelago 9.06 +18; PC/BT Caucasian 8.27E+17; Albanians (Northern Italy) 5.31E+17; Desasth Brahmin...

I did hear from someone else who had their a1a tail taken off also.
Anyway, I'm all excited about an exact match. This is the only one that didn't have 16192 with the rest of the numbers. The person is part of a research project on samples taken in Argentina.

This topic offers plenty of room for Doctors, Lawyers, Politicians, Clergy (like myself), Historians, Educators, etc. to do the two things we like to do best--make money and spout platitudinus babblegab.

Lost my tail
On Friday I was informed that Family Tree DNA is no longer classifying me as an a1a. They are sure of my U5 designation but said I need a test that involves all of my DNA so they won't have to rely on potentially volitile areas. Has anyone else gone through this process?...

Looks like there's a reason for my expensive kids' dental corrections.

I found out recently that I'm U5a1a. My adoptive parents who grew up on farms in Finland and Estonia in the 40's remember that whenever they wanted a drink of milk they would go directly to a nearby cow and get their fill. I love all kinds of cheeses and even though I have never had a sense of smell,...

I've been searching for 16239T and recently saw it on a diagram describing U5a1a# http://www.nature.com/ejhg/journal/v.../5201145f2.gif
I don't know how to paste it on this forum but I hope the link takes one there. Does this mean I could be part of that group?
