I don't believe they can tell you which side if YOU take the test. I believe the only way would be to have both parents take the test.

Success with a twist
After less than 8 months of waiting, I've found a 24/25 match with another Pearson who traces his ancestry back to the same person. The twist comes in when I look at other members of my haplogroup and I find a second person who matches the other Pearson with a 25/25 match but his surname is Howell....

Something similiar just occurred with my DNA tests. I found a 24/25 match with a one step mutation at DYS458. That person has the same surname as me and has documentation going back to the same ancestor.
It would be interesting to get him to do a 67 marker upgrade so we can completely...
