I poked around in my My FTDNA page and found that my results are almost in (deep clade test). They're just waiting on one more SNP, which I'm sure will be negative.

I sent in my rescrape the second week of January and after an angry email about them not telling me if they had even received the samples or not my My FTDNA page was updated to say that results were expected today. Looks like I'm getting bumped again, although it still says expected 2/19.

FTDNA emailed me about being bumped the first time, but not the second. I only learned that by logging in to My FTDNA, which said my results were expected 1/08. I just logged in out of curiosity and it told me that they sent me a C/D kit because they need additional samples. I had no idea since...

Thanks, Cacio. I really need to stop myself from getting so into this before I decide to retrain as a genetic anthropologistEither that or follow up on my idea about collaborating on an ancient DNA study after I finish my dissertation.

Great, another paper I need to track down and read. I want to see exactly what they mean by no convergence between Anatolian cattle and that in other parts of Italy. DNA from both ancient and modern cattle in Europe (including modern samples from Italy, not sure about ancient) has shown that European...Last edited by augustin25; 16 February 2007, 11:37 AM.

Jim, I understand your questions about X and no Clovis in Asia, but there are explanations that don't require unsubstantiated claims of a European migration. First of all, there is X in Asia. We're still arguing about the relationships between the European, Asian, and Native American variants, but...

Yes, I've seen it. A controversial theory makes for good TV, but not good archaeology. I generally think Dennis Stanford is quite knowledgeable and a good archaeologist -that's why many of us are quite baffled by the whole thing. The similarities between Solutrean and Clovis lithics are superficial....
