I have tested my mother's autosomal DNA on 24 markers. Of those, she has the same value on 6 of those markers. This means that she inherited the same allele from both her father and mother on these 6 markers.
Does this suggest that her parents were closely related? Or is it common to...

I'm still waiting on one additional marker and the folks at FTDNA will perform the analysis for me and provide a report indicating what percentage of liklihood that my father is in fact my father versus another random male in the population.

I have received the results of both mine and my father's Autosomal Panel 1 markers today.....I did this test now that he is deceased to confirm once and for all that he is in fact my biological father. My step-father is predicted to be R1b1c7 by FTDNA, his ysearch profile...

Many 37-marker matches,why?
I have a year of yDNA experience and am puzzled by my step-father's results. He has 239 (yes, 239) 25-marker matches and 3 of them are exacts with the remaining at a genetic distance of only 1. Needless to say most of these matches (all but 2 in fact) are a different surname than his and are further...
