Not finding R1b1c6 in recent papers in relation to Etruscans
What recent studies have suggested a Near East origin and Iberian (R1b1c6 specific) origin?? I cannot seem to locate any study that is less than 3 years old addressing R1b1c6 itself....

Given Up
Congrats if your autosomal results match perfectly to your genealogical records. I've about given up on autosomal DNA testing and analysis. It's really frustrating that FTDNA offers the tests with NO explanations or any interpretation of the test results and yet DNA Tribes does....

Just a crazy thought
For people like me who do not have much of a family tree (more like a twig) how about a genetic family tree based off the tests conducted by FTDNA?
As time goes by and more people test, then maybe all the gaps could be filled in just by working one...

Good Point
R1b is as much a Viking haplogroup as I is a good point. I don't know why people come up with the idea that there was this severe isolation of haplogroups in ancient times. Such as only Haplogroup I occupied a "hot spot" of Norway. Heck we have the technology to identify...

Boggy Man
I often wondered that myself (DNA from Bog Men). The peat bogs of Denmark has done some excellent preservation work of skin, etc. Having DNA from the period of antiquities and even pre-history itself is pretty awesome. Maybe we will get lucky and find some poor...

DYF371X Results In
DYF371X=11c-12t-13c-14c. The 11c marker seems to be off modal in comparison to other R1b peeps 10c. What does this mean? Do I have an ancestral or more ancestral marker in my haplogroup, or is it possibly indicative of a subgrouping within R1b1c6?

FTDNA to test the following markers???
I wonder if FTDNA has plans to test the following markers in the near future:
DYS199T
DYS444
DYS446
RPS4Y711T
M242T
If you want to test for the above markers go to Relative Genetics
DYF406S1
DYS481
DYS487...

The Correct Way to Enter OmniPop Data for Autosomal Results
From my understanding the correct way to enter your autosomal DNA into OmniPop in order to get more accurate results is to add the first 5 CODIS markers, then map it, erase the first 5 CODIS markers and add the rest of the CODIS markers in, and remap it. Make a comparison of the clusters from both maps...

FTDNA Kittler Test Results
DYS385a/b (K) 14-11
The above are my results for the Kittler Test 385a/385b. Now when I look at my yDNA values that were tested on 12 marker test, it shows 385a=11 and 385b=14. So what should I make of this?
