I think mine was originally predicted by FTDNA as I but was told that I needed an SNP test to confirm it. After that it was listed as haplogroup I. Once they offered the Deep HapI test I took that too and was reclassified as I1c....

FTDNA is still calling it I1c... but it has been reclassified as I1b2a by other sites. I expect that FTDNA will soon follow.

I found this on the Y-base website:
DYS464a-d
As of the 19th May 2003, Family Tree DNA are now reporting the DYS464 markers (which includes DYS464a, DYS464b, DYS464c, and DYS464d) in line with standard scientific nomenclature. All values have been reduced by 1. Thus a value of...

I1b2a (a.k.a. I1c) decendents of I1b2
I find it interesting that I1c was recently reclassified as I1b2a which is a decendant of an I1b2 somewhere along the line, and they are found in the UK, Germany, and Scandinavia.
What if instead of the common assumption that the I1c...

MtDNA - direct maternal
Mitochondrial DNA is only passed on by women, from mother to their children.
Your mitichondrial DNA is from your mother, which was from her mother, which was from her mother...
It has nothing to do with your father.

it's just recorded a different way
It's not a mistake, it's just recorded a different way.
Check out the value of your 389-1 marker... I bet it's 14.
If you add the 389-1 marker value to the 389-2 marker value that the genographic project gave you... (14 + 17) you get what...

I1c is part of I1b2
Recent SNP testing has resulted in re-classifying I1c as I1b2a.

New Y-Hap I sub-clade structure
I just read about a change in the subclade structure of Y Haplogroup I.
I1c... also known as I2... is NOW also known as I1b2a.
You can see the new structure here:
New Y-Hap I Structure
I believe that I am part of this subclade...
I see in my FTDNA...

I guess I've no more arguments...

Wow... I didn't expect that much of a response.
Thank you very much.
I'm not sure that I agree with Noaide though...
Although it is most likely that she has it, you never know when a mutation might occur. I plan on testing her to confirm it, if nothing else than for my...

MtDNA H1a mutation 16343G
I have taken the MtDNA Plus test and followed it up with the H subclad test.
I am H1a with HVR1 mutations of 16051G, 16162G, 16343G, 16519C and HVR2 mutations of 73G, 263G, 315.1C.
I have no matches under "MtDNA Matches" or "MtDNA Search".
I have no Exact matches...

The "HVR" in HVR1 and HVR2 stands for Hyper Variable Region. They are areas in your mitochondrial DNA that have a tendancy to mutate faster than other areas. Instead of going to the expense of testing the entire Motochondrial DNA sequence these are the most common areas to test.

CRS is just a reference
The CRS is just a reference that we compare our DNA to. It is from a scientist with MtDNA from haplogroup H, which is not even your haplogroup. I didn't start with the CRS and then mutate 11 times to get your MtDNA of K.

Haplogroup I SNP test
My understanding is that they currently test for subclades I1a and I1b. I believe that I fall into the I1c subclade but their SNP test only placed me into I P19+... I heard rumor of them developing a super-I subclade test, but don't believe that they are using...
