I responded to your PM last week as well. You dont need to download the template, its simply there for devs or people curious about whats being used to create the new file format.
All you do is click the file upload button and upload your ancestry file and then on the results page you...

You shouldn't use the converted file from mapmy23 for other sites like GEDMATCH, its only meant for FTDNA in the format they accept(I'm the author). GEDMATCH can accept pretty much any format so there is no point converting it and discarding the data that ftdna doesnt...

New Ancestry format?
I've got a few users who have messaged me saying their percentages are low (78%) instead of the typical 99.84%. Can anyone confirm they have gotten recent results from Ancestry that only show that amount of overlap with the older files? Heres an example of what I'm...

This isn't true(author here). There has always been a logo at the root of the website. The url to the tool itself is http://www.mapmy23.com/tools/ancestry_ftdna_fix.php
Originally I had planned to release some other tools and list them all on the main site but I've not found the time...

Your file gets uploaded to the server into a secure location, inaccessible to the browser itself, only available through the pages/scripts running on the server. It is not processed by the browser but...

I'm fairly certain they are saying that for liability reasons, however the way the tool works is by inserting "no calls" into snps missing from the incompatible ancestry file and deleting snps that are "extra". So its not "modifying your dna" as they say, its more like...

John we actually tried that when the original problems started happening and it didn't seem to matter. It would be wonderful if it were this simple though, thats for sure!...

Hi Ann, sorry I didn't see your message, I did reply, I will try to help as best I can. It does seem that randomly FTDNA will not accept a small percentage of these converted kits. Unfortunately I've not found the problem yet, they seem to be in exactly the same format as the others and have the same...
