Trying to simplify:
correct (if incomplete)
- autosomal dna = "can be inherited from either parent" ........... YES, 50% (1 half set of chromosomes) comes from each parent
- Y-DNA - "inherited from the father only" ..................................YES, and...

Completed? Now one of the 954 kits says "completed", I even double-checked order history, but ...
- The terminal SNP is the same, okay, that's maybe not a surprise as they really haven't a clue
- The number of "unnamed variants" is the same as it was with the Y500...

Y haplogroup frequency graphs
Pretty new bar graphs for European frequencies, from NevGen. Scroll down to the horizontal display because it's easier to read sample size etc.

I completely agree. Moreover, their chart in which they had such confidence turned out to be nonsense. We are still waiting on our kits in 954 and they won't tell us yes/no whether they need fresh samples....

What is the indigenous percentage (estimate) for "this person" ? In our experience Ticos with a high indigenous percentage match random people all over the Americas. We've chalked up Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Columbia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala. Usually people with estimates...

18 days is just for an upgrade from one STR level to another - for example from Y37 to Y67. Not for new samples....

And did FTDNA also pick up some? Anything show up as Siberian? I suspect that if it is showing up using various estimators there is something there. You might want to check https://dna-explained.com/2012/12/18...try-using-dna/
There is also an American...

Please stop obsessing over those "roll-overs" - it is just an automated routine that is initialized when a test is batched and just keeps blindly adding two weeks. It takes no account of current conditions that may have significant effects ... switching of chips, a big swell in orders, broken...Last edited by abuelita; 3 September 2019, 09:34 AM.

There is an end in sight. September 7. Did you all not get the July 31st e-mail? They got almost 6,000 orders during that small time frame when they offered the Y700 at a discount to those who already had a Y500. This was not an "average" situation.

Next Friday if the 18 day pattern holds. Please let us know.
As for the SNP packs - we've had 3, really too small a sample size to judge, but each took about 5-6 weeks....

Late at night and off the top of my head ......
- If this is your father's father's father you are seeking - get a Y test as an add-on to your autosomal test at FTDNA, they are on sale right now. Then look carefully at the surnames. Next step: use that info to have fun looking for interesting...

Your father was mestizo, a mix of Amerindian and Iberian (mostly - maybe some other pan-Mediterranean). The "Siberian" and "East-Asian" are probably just an extra bit of Amerindian - which seems to be somewhere between 17 and 20 percent using the gedmatch models.
If...Last edited by abuelita; 23 July 2019, 03:40 PM.

You ordered these directly, through the regular ordering links? You gave FTDNA your own e-mail address? or that of the person to be tested? Each confirmation message should have included an account number and password. Look through the messages carefully if they went to you instead of the people...

Exactly! Upgrade from Y37 to Y67: ordered 6/12; batched (975) 6/12; results posted 6/30
An 18 day wait on the button.
(Now big Y on the other hand - We have been awaiting two of them for over 3 months, and in the past our waits have been 4 months, 5 months, and the speedy...
