- autosomal dna = "can be inherited from either parent" ........... YES, 50% (1 half set of chromosomes) comes from each parent
- Y-DNA - "inherited from the father only" ..................................YES, and...

- The terminal SNP is the same, okay, that's maybe not a surprise as they really haven't a clue
- The number of "unnamed variants" is the same as it was with the Y500...

I completely agree. Moreover, their chart in which they had such confidence turned out to be nonsense. We are still waiting on our kits in 954 and they won't tell us yes/no whether they need fresh samples....

What is the indigenous percentage (estimate) for "this person" ? In our experience Ticos with a high indigenous percentage match random people all over the Americas. We've chalked up Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Columbia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala. Usually people with estimates...

18 days is just for an upgrade from one STR level to another - for example from Y37 to Y67. Not for new samples....

Please stop obsessing over those "roll-overs" - it is just an automated routine that is initialized when a test is batched and just keeps blindly adding two weeks. It takes no account of current conditions that may have significant effects ... switching of chips, a big swell in orders, broken...

Your father was mestizo, a mix of Amerindian and Iberian (mostly - maybe some other pan-Mediterranean). The "Siberian" and "East-Asian" are probably just an extra bit of Amerindian - which seems to be somewhere between 17 and 20 percent using the gedmatch models.
