British Isles 23% dna?

Having 23 percent British Isles in my dna when none of my closest family are of English,Scottish, Heritage. I do have a Irish Man in my family but that is far back he died in 1831. so were do 23 percent come from?.

i was wondering about my dna result that shows that i am 39 percent western and central europe and 17 percent scandinavian.how can i be only 17 percent scandinavian .my mother is 100 percent scandinavian as i know of i can trace her father and mother back in denmark and norway for the last 400 or 500...
