Yes, I appreciate the complexity of this part of the science. And I don't really have expectations for perfection at this point. Ancestry seems to be moving towards a more likely picture of my breakdown though. I'm hoping the MyHeritage update will be useful. So far, Living DNA and FTDNA are changing...

I don't remember getting an email about that. Not a big deal to me, I guess. I mean, I do need more distant relatives to understand my ancestors' immigration, but I admit I kind of lost interest a while back because not enough people who are related to me have tested. But once MyHeritage fixed their...

Well...I got a little more DNA from my European grandparents, and one of them was Portuguese and the other was Colombian (Spanish ancestry including Galician). Before I just had Iberian to represent them both. Now it's showing as 31% Magyar, 10% Iberian, 7% Basque, 9% Irish. And well, there's a trace...

Any idea how soon we might expect the update? I know it's delayed, but some news on it would be nice. Especially since there's not much else to do for some of us now.

Did you ever get your results? I think my husband's results took about 7 months to come in, and it was an upgrade from Big Y 500 to 700. They were delayed. We got an email about them running out of old samples and sending the kit for more. I don't remember exactly how far along that was. But this all...

I'm not the one who wrote two paragraphs on the issue. By the way, it's a lot shorter saying, "I disagree." That's essentially what I'm saying right now.

Yes. If there are delays, it is more than likely due to the quality of the sample itself and has nothing to do with FTDNA. They do the best they can with what you provide. Smokers, for example, sometimes need to re-swab up to a few times before the test will give good results.
On another...

It could literally be any day. It's mostly a matter of when it passes the quality control stage. If the results have no-calls, depending on the test, they'll get more of your sample out to re-test. Then it goes to quality control again. It keeps going until the results are right. I recently heard on...

It's just as well. I've had to input my husband's data twice and last I checked, it said he didn't even have an account. So it's been somewhat useless for us.

If your relative was framed, then yes. Nothing in this world is either black or white. Think outside the box.

Well that's exciting news. I have an mtDNA full sequence test in batch 853. The estimated completion date is 6/11/18 to 6/25/18. I won't be disappointed if it doesn't come in soon, but I'm happy that there's a possibility that it will.

Or...they're busy and just give them more time to respond? There are times I don't respond for a couple weeks because, you know, life happens. Job, kids, renovations, family emergencies? If it's only been a day or two, just try waiting longer. I think I even forgot to respond to someone when life calmed...
