My male cousin, Mr. Carr, had his YDNA done for me so we can hopefully find where our family came from. He isn't into ancestry so I am trying to figure it out. His kit #(removed), Y37, and J-M172.

There is a group of J-M172 but he is listed under "ungrouped". What does this mean...

Thank you so much for your reply. So it doesn't mean I have any ancestors that actually came from some of the countries like, Greece, Germany or Bulgaria?

I had my dna done with ancestry.com and it showed I had no Italian, Greek or German. I am 100% western European....

I've gotten my results back and don't know how to read them. I had the mtDNA test done. On the ancesteral orgins what exactly does the HVR1 Matches...match total...country total...percentage actually mean??? I'm not sure what numbers mean associated to each of these.
