To further elaborate on what Jim stated. A GD of 0 at Y37 is relevant but not necessarily close; sounds like in your case that it will be more than 7 or 8 generations back. They will most likely start to drop off as well at 67 and 111 but most likely will still be related in a genealogical time frame....

I looked at the project you are stating but Kit U4244 (tested 111) and the second kit, 267664 (tested to only 37?). Did you mean the 1st and 3rd kit, 273010? I count GD of 5 for those two kits. Comparing the last 2 kits ( last kit 351468)I get a GD of 4. And the only other combination of first to...

it has been mentioned a few times that the email notification sometimes come out ahead of the results being posted online by a few days.

family matching does not require the $19 to be paid from what I know. The only requirement is for you to have a tree and for you to link known relationships to those that have tested. After doing so, give it a few minutes and you should see that matches that were common to the linked individual (most...

atwein send me a private message when you get a chance. My wife descends from the John Clark that you had mentioned (her maiden name is Clark). She has tested here and I would be more than willing to take a look and see if you are common matches and/or share someone that is. I will be honest however,...

Sorry but I don't agree with Lucky on this one (at least a 100%). If you had matched on the same segment and they were also triangulated to each other (use the matrix tool as you did), then they would be confirmed from the same ancestor. The fact that they are on different chromosomes does not mean...

First the MyOrigins and every other company's version for that matter are nothing more than educated guesses based on small sample populations that "supposedly" are pure version of the group of people they represent. Europe is a small continent and many of the countries were blended together...

FT does a much better quality control check then several of the other companies. They also test a larger portion of the DNA. Many of the recent delays are due to server upgrades surrounding the new release of their MyOrigins.
I know none of this will make you feel any better or less...

For phasing it looks at only the common segments shared between common matches. In other words if both of you don't match the same person at the same segment they won't be phased.

I have the same thing as you epp. I'm thinking that FTDNA does not list beyond 3rd cousin relationships. I have a two matches (father/son) that are 4C3R and 5C2R.

my response is assuming that all three tests are family finder; based on the difference there is a good chance that your settings for the kit with the low amount of matches is set to exclude speculative matches where as the other 2 kits are set for all matches. Of course if this is actually in reference...

he gets his entire X from his mother, therefore you would have to share the X inheritance from his maternal line. Doesn't mean that you aren't also related on his paternal side. Also, the X chromosome can go be inherited in large chunks causing large segment matches which are not to be considered...
