Variants - named, unnamed vs shared

Thank you for the explanation. FTDNA used to call shared variants "SNP Matches" and the word shared was used in "Shared Novel Variants". Are they now using the words variants and SNP as interchangeable?

I have three kits in the same project that all match each other with a genetic distance of 3 or less, call them A, B, C and D

For Kits A, C and D their Y-DNA Matches and Email Notifications are set to:
My Matches = All Matches
Y-DNA67 Matches = Yes
