Have you tested autosomal DNA (Family Finder)?
If so, have you looked through those matches for these other surnames, and possible same location as your paternal line was?...

I had the same problem and just deleted the extra people I had added for the match, then added the extra spouse and connected the new dna match to that spouse. You need the common parent (father) not attached to either of you. You should have father in the middle with a mother on each side of him,...Last edited by Renegade6008; 21 February 2017, 08:22 PM.

Feature Request with Phasing Tool - half siblings
It would be wonderful to indicate which matches belong to paternal vs maternal based on a tested half sibling.
I don't quite understand why this isn't available when based on shared DNA the system knows the two aren't full siblings and tree placement indicates which parent they share....

I will attempt to answer your 3 questions above, given my understanding of autosomal and mtDNA.
1. I believe the two females descend from a common ancestor, however you do not share enough autosomal DNA for either to show up in your Family Finder matches. This could be due to the MRCA...

The email today was the second email. I received the first one on time, last month. That's why it was bothersome to me. It made me wonder if there was a problem and did they contact the tester for a new sample. I think he would tell me if that occurred, though....

However, today, I received an...

Jack, the Gedmatch kit, to which you refer, is that of one of my daughters. Oddly, your mother's kit does not seem to match the kit of anyone else in my daughter's immediate family (parents, twin sister, grandmother) on the 'X' like she does. Not sure what to make of that. Any ideas?

Thank you for the source suggestion. I will check that out.
I am currently shown as H11a2 by FTDNA, but my project admin for H11 believes I am actually H11a2a.
I appreciate your answering my questions....

You lost me me at heteroplasmies. Can you explain what that is or how I am to recognize that so as to ignore one? Also, if I am looking at GD=0, would that indicate there are no heteroplasmies to ignore?
I have 8 "extra mutations" of which 5 are the common ones listed above,...

On my Results screen it shows 8 "Extra Mutations". Is that to what you refer?
If so, would a GD=0 match under HVR1, HVR2, and Coding Region be a match including those extra mutations?...

Thank you everyone. I will check my matches against my FF matches, particularly against my mother's FF matches.
Jack, my Haplogroup is H11a2...
