My father, now deceased, terminates at L20. He doesn't have sample left to upgrade from 500 to 700, so it is what it is, I guess. I've uploaded him to YFull and he's still L20 there too, LOL! He was an NPE and I did use autosomal DNA to find his probable birth father, the surname is CARROLL. Being Irish,...

I have a cousin test in batch 615 and I noticed myOrigins data has appeared sometime since yesterday evening... so I guess things are moving now. No names yet, but should see results soon!

Also, OP, great story! Don't you love when those connections are made?

I am looking for Peck family too!
I am looking for Pecks too, from Ipswich, Suffolk, England... specifically I am looking for descendants of the three sons of Samuel Peck (1823) and Hannah Dennant (1823): Samuel Peck (b. 1847, m. Catherine Soane), John Peck (b. 1850, married Emma Pudan)...

My father's Y-37, batch 600, ordered 12/6 from an existing FF sample, resulted yesterday. Oodles of GD 1 and 2 matches at 25 that all fall apart to leave zero matches at 37. Boo.

Batch 600, where are you??
Where oh where are my father's Y37 results? Ordered December 6th and the sample was already in-house from a successful Family Finder test... and is this the new norm? Now I wish I'd just gone ahead and ordered the Y111 and been done with it. Sigh.

How to calculate your most distant direct male and female ancestors...
I have come across at least a dozen people today who've either got a man listed as their most distant direct maternal ancestor, or they've got the wife of their most distant direct paternal ancestor listed as their most distant direct maternal ancestor. Both are incorrect, hence this post which, btw,...Last edited by KimmyNOLA; 15 February 2015, 10:10 AM.

Yep, I just saw this same exact thing on a test I'm managing for a cousin. Dammit. I think my longest turnaround for previous tests was 3.5 weeks. I know stuff happens but I'm seriously disappointed that it's taking this long because this is a test that's going to verify (or not) an NPE. Sigh....

I'm not sure how that's figured but he's got a 67 marker comparison with a genetic distance of 13 as his closest match, and that says "L150*-Modal" as the name, and from there it's a distance of 15 on up. Mind you, I'm not terribly familiar with how to use YSearch so I may be missing out on...

Sure! His YSearch ID is 7DB4F. Please let me know if there's anything there I can tweak to get more info. Also, he's not currently in a haplogroup project. He was in one, R1b1*, but got removed some time back because they said he matched R1b1a2, and then with me concentrating fully on his adoption search...

Y-67 with no matches above 12. What now?
I manage my husband's profile. He's done FF, mtDNA, and Y up to 67 markers. He's adopted but has reunited with his birth mother and has info on his birth father's family. I don't doubt his mother's report of who his father is, and the resemblance is uncanny, but my experiences with my own family's DNA...

I have to wonder too... did my dad know? Was he just keeping it a secret to protect his mother's reputation? All these questions and I'll never know! He and my mom have been divorced for many years now - 43 years, maybe? - and he didn't want to do DNA for quite a while. It was only when my mom told...
