Hi everyone,
My mtDNA is H1b1c european haplogroup. I know this is from my mother's side. My population finder gives me similar results as my mother's (I don't have every group she has listed - possibly because it's pulling from her father's dna profile?) however... I also have 9% Middle...

Husband and Wife mtDNA or Y chrom matches?
Has anyone heard of a husband and wife who never knew they were related, tested and discovered they had a common maternal line?
Or how about a husband matching the father or brother of the wife?
I'm curious.

No FGS Matches
I know it means that nobody with your genome has tested to match...
What would a family finder test tell me? I'm thinking about taking the family finder test - is that more autosomal? What will family finder tell me that an FGS can't?
Anything I don't know already or new...

What is HVR3?
I was on the Sorenson DNA Database and it allows you to put in your HVR1, 2 and 3 results. I tested out my mtDNA to FGS and I don't have any HVR3 results.

I'm upgrading my HVR2 to FGS as well and my kit is also in batch 376.

I just ordered mine today.
Not sure what else I'm supposed to learn by doing the full sequence, but I'm curious enough that I sent in the money to find out!

E1b1b1
Isn't it an East African as well as North African haplogroup? Either way you slice it the man was part of one of the groups he was determined to eliminate.
Self hate destroyed him and millions of other innocent people.

FTDNA Has to make a test for this!
This L.A. times article gives a lot of information and also has a map showing the migration patterns.

Testing my father's mtDNA to trace his maternal line.
Results due early June.

I'm inclined to believe that he doesn't have any matches because they haven't tested yet. On the haplotree portion where you can see distance matches he has (2) 1 distance matches one from Morocco and one from "unknown", and (2) at 2 distance, (7) at 3 distance, and (24) at 4 distance. If...
