Hi Folks,

I have a question that I still can't find the answer to, after many years of research:

When I put my mother into the Chromosome Browser, she matches me on all 22 base pairs and the X....literally almost every place that FTDNA tests.

Why aren't there...

I've had my cousin join GEDMATCH, and I set the threshhold to a variety of #s. When I set it to 4 (or below), I do get matches with her.

At 4cm threshhold, we match at 4.9, 4.8 and...

I have a known 4th cousin whom I convinced to get the family finder test, and we are not coming up as matches for each other.

Is this common? Or is one of us not related in the way we think that we are?

Hi there,

I recently found that one of my family finder matches, supposedly a 3rd to 5th cousin, happens to have the same Y Haplogroup as I do (R-P312).

He doesn't show up on my Y results though. Shouldn't he, if he is the same group?
