Accepting JOIN requests in a yDNA surname project
In my yDNA project, the JOIN request is not accepted automatically. I must manually accept the kit. This prevents tester kits of females with Family Finder and mtDNA tests from joining.
When a person with or without a FTDNA kit number submits a JOIN request, I receive email from FTDNA...

Both will be a real time...

YSearch is gone

ySearch option
I just attempted to access a project member yDNA results for YSearch and the option no longer appears at the bottom of the Results page. Looks like to me it is already gone!

Stevenson Surname project
I think we have to use our own good judgement until FTDNA gives us specifics. ie I removed the members contact name and email from our Pedigree page which is public. Contact will have to be made through me or my co admin.

name of members public
I have chosen to only display most distant ancestor with the kit number on ydna results which are public. This protects the name of the tester to the general public. I have not seen any project who displays the member names to the public on the...

access to member accounts by group administrators
another startling new message today when I signed into a member account selected Personal Information and then Manage Projects tab. Here is the statement above the list of projects:
"Important: Please review the settings...

email addresses
" Controllers and processors must store contact information separately from “results."
As administrator, I already see at least one issue that FTDNA will have to address. In ydna matches reporting, after opening the match list, the tester has...
