It is the same old song and dance with FTDNA. We are behind because of the holiday sale, we have more then expected customer service requests and we are behind, the holiday staffing schedule put us behind, we don't have enough customer service reps at this time but we are hiring more but it will take...

Current Sale - To update or not
I manage several family kits in varying degrees of testing. I am wondering if any upgrades would be benifecial? Here is what has been tested so far
My brother' kit: Family Finder, mtDNA full, Y-DNA 111, Big-Y, Geno 2.0
My kit: Family Finder, Y-DNA 67

Well, it looks like departments at FTDNA don't communicate. They put out an email that says the sale will start at noon central time to the group admins and then IT doesn't roll out web page update. Sounds like nothing ever changes at FTDNA.

If it is really an issue of getting what you paid for then consider filing a complaint at the Better Business Bureau. Here is FTDNA's page of complaints http://www.bbb.org/houston/business-...on-tx-35001063

In the past 6 months 2 project members, and a friend in another project received new test kits in the mail. They were never notified to as why until they called and asked and even that question wasn't answered on the first call. These may be isolated cases but I don't think so. In one of the haplogoup...

Improve communication, not only with customers but between the departments within the company. It appears that everytime...

Enough is Enough
I think it is time that customers start thinking about sharing their complaints about FTDNA with the Better Business Bureau, local investigative reporters, and social media other then airing them here. The attention may get FTDNA to start correcting their problems and...

Elise,
You have been saying for a couple months now that more and more staff is being hired yet customer service is still terrible. How long does it take to hire and train customer service reps. Customers have been waiting months and months for answers to questions and solutions to...

I am not sure there is much left to the professional reputation of FTDNA's IT department. Every update they do causes more problems, every new feature they add doesn't work as it is supposed to, and they have an ever growing list of problems they need to fix....

Website Maintenance
I really hope this is really maintenance and repair of all the things that don't work rather then changing things that aren't broken and making cosmetic changes....

I know that Full Genomes had delays in the beginning just like FTDNA but at least their customer service was talking to their customers.
I also think they were using a lab outside the US in the beginning where as, from what I have read, the lab for the Y-Prime is in the US.

I have attempted to find an email address for them but there isn't one listed on their website....

There was a post on another thread that stated tracking was showing a couple of kits sitting at the Post Office for a week or so waiting to be picked up from FTDNA. I am not sure that I can find the post but I look and quote it here if I find it again....

Just remember that the YFull's Experimental YTree is just that Experimental. One thing that I remember reading is that some of positions of the public kits ie. 1KG results are incorrectly placed throughout the tree.
I really like the site and their analysis of the results but just remember...
