So I posted this (below) last night; thinking I was in THIS Ancient Origins Thread *Self eye roll* so this is cross posted sorta; sorry I initially meant for my post to go here
I will freely admit I understand 'groupings' of more modern DNA vs./in comparison to history (Ancient Greece/Rome onward)...

My Nana had Macular Degeneration; my mother (her daughter) also had the beginning stages of it; my eye care provider is aware and has informed me I will have to be on the look out (pardon the pun) as he said my chances are high (due to Nana and Mom) that I could develop this as well. I don't know if...

In my humble opinion...
I would agree; My Dad is Acadian French; I had him tested first via Ancestry; before I got his results I already knew by doing my paper trail Research (thank god for records and Stephen White) that my grandparents were cousins many ways; hitting each...Last edited by LadyAlaise; 7 February 2016, 04:31 AM.

I also have heteroplasmy 214R in my mtDNA (Haplogroup U3a1c) as well as a unique mutation in my coding region, the only one in the U3 project with it thus far (T9615C).

Well I have chatted with my mom about my dna results and experience and she finally agreed to get a test (provided I pay for it) for which I am excited and thankful but it will be a bit as I need to get up the funds lol. A. It would be interesting to see if the unique mutation I carry is Unique to ME...

myOrigins change #4 lol
So FTDNA apparently finished updating my results for my Origins; lol I guess now I am only 99% human? Where did that 1.0% go? (8o. lol
My OLD (3rd change) results are on the LEFT and my NEW results are on the RIGHT. (see attached image below)
I think I am more amused than anything else...

This issue seems to be affecting matches completed on June 3rd; I am able to view matches I received on the 8th, 10th etc with no issues. However, my gripe with this is MOST of my matches were completed on the 3rd.I have also heard they are working on correcting this.

Hi,
Actually I guess I have new matches? Before I had like two people listed on my FMS match list; now I have 18!
17 of them are 3 Step match. One is a 2 Step match; I have no 1 Step match and no 0 Step match.
I had to look them up via Advance matching as the normal mtdna match...

Darren, a question?
Darren, if I may ask, so you say that HVR1 and HVR2 matches do not allow for mutations; but FMS does (up to 3?), I have a VERY unique mutation in my Coding Region, which my project admin tells me I am the First thus tested (in the U3 project), found with it (Coding...

well when I compared it in the chromosome browser (and I didn't mess with any of the limits/settings) it was at 5+ cM. FTDNA predicts actually 3rd cousins...but I, in my limited and new understanding of all this, thought that the amount of DNA we look to share seems even more than 3rd cousin level?...

OMG Chromosome browser actually worked for ONE of my matches!
So I was browsing around my match list and saw someone (I will call G Sullivan) who shares more than a little DNA with me; no common surnames...who is also an Xmatch and for hahas I tried the chromosome browser (which like many here, has not been working since I got my results) and wouldn't you know...Last edited by LadyAlaise; 11 June 2015, 09:16 PM.

My Results (see attached images) Across the board on Gedmatch, when there are admix groupings of South American/Artic Amerindian/ etc. I show up with percentages. A friend of mine, who is a Genetic Genealogist, looked over my results and said that I am def showing up with legit Native admix; she estimates...
