Sex of kit plus paternal/maternal ancestors have switched

Just for the record and the benefit of anyone else who has a similar problem, I've just realised that my daughter is showing as my father's 'grandson' and I am unable to change it.

This time, I know for certain that the kit was purchased as a female kit. In my excitement at the time...

I thought I'd post here first in case this is a known issue. I've been away for a while and haven't logged in to this kit in the past two months.

The kit in question is my aunt's, she is the half-sister of my mother. I noticed today that she is showing as my mother's 'brother' instead...

I know this thread is a bit old but I heartily concur. This is so necessary. I, also, have solved match mysteries through town name searches.

For the past two years, FtDNA customers have been encouraged to upload full trees or gedcoms to this site, including sibling details.

I think this is a mistake for the following reasons:

1) The site has load and upload issues that I suspect are a mix of slow server speeds...

I'm extra frustrated because I'm pretty sure I have identified a common ancestor with a match and I can't load their tree enough to pluck the details from it. I hate to cold-mail matches without having a reasonably-certain name or region, but I guess I have to start,...

I tried five trees after seeing your message. It happened with four, but the fifth worked just fine. Then I tried two more with no success.

I just went back into that working tree and searched on a surname. When I select the individual by searched name, I have the same problem but...

I have been travelling interstate and as of last week have had trouble accessing my matches' provided trees.

Sometimes I could get in but could not move beyond the initial page showing the DNA match and nearest generations. Other times, it doesn't even load.

I'm waiting on a batch 633 Family Finder which was due now, due date just revised to 09/02/2015 - 09/16/2015. But that might be the automatic system kicking in now the old date has been reached.

I just received a notification saying I have a new FMS match. When I go there I'm getting the Houston error. I would assume the 'new' match is my old matches being reinstated and this is something they are currently working on.

I haven't checked for a month or so, but this morning I received a notification about a new HVR1 match so I went to my MtDNA matches to take a look. The notification was correct, no issues there.

I then browsed the HVR2 - all good though somewhat smaller I think. I recognise the match...

I edited my profile information and made it public, and I have been contacted already by two non-DNA Match cousins (one 3rd, one 4th) who I did not know of.

By taking our details to Gedmatch in each instance I have discovered a match which is below the FtDNA threshold but a high enough...

Private trees are still private. In the search results, every so often I am finding one that says: Private Family Tree - You need to be a DNA match to see this result.

I can't see anything at all about these trees and I don't even know if my search surname is an exact hit or a similar...
