Interpreting specific chromosome matches
Despite the fact your C15 looks like it might triangulate, the size (less then 10cM, and especially because it is less than 500 SNPs) makes it highly questionable. I would not form any conclusions based on this match alone.

Another possibility would be the Great-grandmother's brother is actually the father (this does not have to be incest). Perhaps a brother or male cousin is the father and perhaps the child was adopted/raised by the sister and her husband. Since you are not matching people with your...

Prehaps this is FTDNA's fault !
It may have nothing to do with your e-mail.
Sometime in the past two weeks, all of my kits mysteriously changed from public to private all by themselves. I am seeing others mentioning this problem in other forums but I have not seen anything...

Perhaps only a 1/2 cousin
Any chance the ancestor had more than one wife and the two lines comes from a different mother?

Ethnicity is only a PREDICTION
Ethnicity is only a PREDICTION and a prediction as low as 3% could easily be wrong or it could refer to an ancestry that is much further back in time.

Phasing Siblings to Grandparents - cross-overs
This is a follow up to the thread Segment Matches with Grandparents Using Crossover Lines with Kathy Johnston's helpful tutorial on phasing siblings.
I have finished my skeleton map for 4 siblings using Kathy's guidelines. I find 1 sibling shows three cross-overs, 2 siblings show two...

Thanks again Kathy.
X Phasing this group of 2nd generation descendants has been extremely useful to my project.
You have been so helpful concerning this phasing stuff. You got me started with a 1st generation autosome map not too long ago but things went down hill. So I decided...

Thanks - I really think I am starting to get a good handle on phasing. I guess it is time to go back to the autosomals and see how far I get phasing them before I run into trouble

Additional Thoughts
I have kits for 3 male siblings of the mother (K's uncles) and a daughter of a 4th male sibling. These kits represent male X chromosomes, therefore can only match with K on her mother's maternal X.
> K does not match any of her uncles or the cousin...
