I appreciate that FTDNA diverted between Sephardic and Ashkenazi.
Even though they gave my fully European uncle less Sephardic then he should have. Instead he got some native south American and some traces of Oceanic.
I guess these traits had to be added to the Sephardic...

A genetic distance of 2or3is too far away to recognize closer jewish relationship. In comparison my values: in mtDna full I have a lot of jeish matches with gd 1 or 2 in the beginning. I do not agree in every point. I am German and know a lot of German genealogists as I am doing classical paper research for long time. Most of German genealogists do simply not see a need to do DNA testing.

No, as I just did a quick research in the german databases to look for DELP emmigrants. But you see in the data I posted some married sons with birthdates, children etc. So with some research in the mormon database of familysearch I guess, you will find other descendants and the connection to your line...

Do you have the settings in your personal profile on to get also 4-5th cousins results? Perhaps you just checked the boxes with close matches? Then you wouldn´t see all other matches...

since FTDNA introduced the new Family Finder I did not upload new matches for a long time. Today I tried - and failed.
GenomeMate (old Version) did not accept the new data I down- and uploaded from FTDNA because of format. Hä?

Thank you Armando and Josh for your interesting discussion. I now understand better, that the west Med of my uncle (and me) is very old from the neolithic.
So I won´t ache my head anymore about a spanic looking ancestor!
