I mean that there are many people involved in the Boyd surname project. I recieved my FIRST SET of 12 markers. Then I recieved notice that several people in the surname project matched at 12/12, against this first set.

If you match 12 for 12 markers with someone who shares your surname, then both persons upgrade to 25 markers and you still only match 12 for 12, with no additional matches, then are you still considered related within a genealogical time span?

I forgot to mention that I and they have all tested at 25 or greater markers.
How did you measure your distance from the Atlantic Modal Haplotype so
that you consider yourself "...far enough away..." from that haplotype?...

Yes, the matches are only 12 of 25 and none extend beyond 12 markers within my surname. At 25y resolution, the 12y surname matches drop out. I have four 24/25 matches with different surnames at 25y resolution....

I'm not sure how to interpret my FTDNA results.
The results for 12 Marker Y-DNA (125), list several 12/25 matches with persons sharing my surname. Therefore we are related within genealogic time.

This also applies for a 24/25 match and different surname?
Does this also apply if the match is 24/25 and the surname differs? I match a Kershner at ybase and I am Boyd....
