Found Parents
In regards to whether anyone has found parents I have one success story. I have an adopted cousin who was adopted in 1946. The adoption was not a legal one and the birth certificate (BC) was forged with the names of the adopted parents being the real parents. The adopted...

I appreciate the communications on the delay Any updates on this? I'm waiting on the results of a kit that was submitted almost two moths ago. I wish FTDNA the best on getting their quality control goals in getting results back within 3-4 weeks....

I've been waiting for results for batch 632 since July. The results date has been postponed twice now and is due in late September. Perhaps they are in transition to changing out equipment as some have suggested. This has also been a time of year when people take vacations so they may be short on staff....

You are correct. The 12.5% is an example of the average. Seeing the percentages will let a person see the variance from the average. It also gives information to show that a perceived relationship may not be what it should be. I put in this request because I manage an account for someone. There is a...

Wow, you're right. I didn't even notice the date. The post should have gone into a more recent thread.

I got notice today that batch 613 has been pushed back from the April 1-15th to April 22- May 6th time frame. On the Family Finder page where it lists the DNA relatives, it will show the shared cM. I recommend adding the percentage DNA shared. Since a lot of people are looking at relationships from percentage shared it may help them in determining the relationship. For example if someone thinks that someone...

Is this person my half-uncle?
I had my mom's brother (my uncle) tested on FTDNA so I could get a YDNA test on him. The kit included autosomal testing also. I've had the results for months and the FTDNA shows shared cM as being 1019.60 which I never really paid attention to until today. I decided to calculated the percent shared...

I uploaded my friend's DNA results from FTDNA to Gedcom. She had tested at 23andme and I had uploaded her results to there months ago (see previous posts). Since her results from 23andme and FTDNA are both on Gedmatch then she should match herself, right? There is no match....
