That's a possibility. Perhaps they're only targeting certain regions with banner-ads, like Canada or the USA, but not the UK....

Yes - apologies for going off-topic.
I've always assumed, perhaps wrongly, that the 25 marker matches were transfers-in from tests taken with other companies which had only 25 STR markers in common with FTDNA's selection. They would have to test again with FTDNA at the Y37 level or above...

That's a good thing, isn't it, increasing the probability that those with non-British origins will find a match.
What would be of concern, however, would be if the number of British tests is falling. The demise of the annual 'Who Do You Think You Are?' event, originally held in London,...

I agree with you. I noticed exactly the same phenomenon when searching on names and partial names a day or two ago. I'd never noticed it before.

On a different tack, the sooner FTDNA re=introduces searching by location (in addition to searching by name) the better....

Just to note that the problem, of Profile pop-ups not scrolling, has now emerged on the mtDNA results pages, where I believe it worked correctly until recently.
Pop-up scrolling still works properly on FF and BigY so I see no reason why it can't be fixed for Y-STR and mtDNA. I would...

Thanks Jim and JMA for your responses. I'll reply to FTDNA's Customer Care to confirm that others are experiencing the same Profile pop-up characteristics. Or 'feature'. (Ahem)

Thanks, JMAishere, for testing and confirming that you found the same effect.
I'm fairly sure, as you say, that it's down to the way they've programmed the page/profile attributes.
I hadn't realised that screen resolution might be a factor, but I think that's only a secondary...

Update:
I've just received a reply about this from FTDNA Customer Care in which they suggest that it's my own computer settings that are wrong and causing the problem.
I think that's unlikely as I only get fixed, immovable, Profile pop-ups on Y-STR Match pages (like Y-37 and...

Just to confirm that I have now managed to report this problem via the Contact/Support 'Open a Request' link.
I've included a link to this thread in my report.
As The Contemplator mentioned, thanks, it was absence of the 'I'm Not a Robot' reCAPTCHA box that prevented me from...

Have just discovered that although the FTDNA Contact/Support page offers a form for sending bug reports (under 'Open a Request') the Submit button on that page doesn't currently work, nor is the 'Contact Us' link on that page 'active'!

Thanks KATM. I originally posted the bug details here rather than raise it 'officially' as I didn't consider it urgent and, as you say, Darren would often pick up on comments here.
(Actually I assumed it would be picked up quickly anyway by FTDNA staff working on the system, as it's...

Still needs fixing.
Note: this problem might not be apparent if viewing a YDNA matches page on a big screen, where all of the Profile pop-up might be visible, but on a smaller screen like a 15-inch laptop the lower part of the popup - the About Me and Ancestral Surnames part - can not...

Still needs fixing.
Individual Profile pop-ups scroll properly for FF, mtDNA, and BigY matches but not for Y-DNA ones.

I agree with you that very little thought seems to have gone into the smiley-faces graphic. One of the 'photo squares' in that login page has been left blank apart from the word 'You', suggesting that one's own photo might fit into that space. But why would anyone wish to see their own photo, smiling...
