I have bought 6 BIG Y tests for different relatives, now I am waiting for the result of the 7th. It was worth every penny. The analysis is as important as the test. The project admins, the external analysis providers are very important. After getting the results the comparative analysis is crucial....

I receieved 4 mails -a mail per kit that results are posted.
I received a mail per each existing kit that new matches are found (expected as the new kits are close relatives to the existing kits).
But when I log in - the 4 kits are still "waiting for results"...

New matches posted on 23rd, but dated 21st. So it takes two days to run the matching program.

Please note - There is no kit number displayed on the BIG Y matching page....

It is only the novel matching SNP and known non-matching SNP that are shared with your match - so there is nothing odd shared with your match.
The benefit of paying USD 500 is to match and analyse else why test at all?...

Same here - one of the kits is Z2105+ Z2103+ L21- U152- L584- L277- by Sanger sequencing and he is assigned R-Z47. Also there are his BIG Y results where he is CTS7822+
I wrote immediately to help desk - this is probably a bug in the algorithm.
Hope they solve it soon...

Your initial matching was done at the beginning of the week. all 13 added through the week are new batches coming in and being matched against existing data base. This week batch 560 FF came in on 19.04.2014 and batch 565 FF came in on 22.04.2014. For example batch 563 is in the pipeline and results...Last edited by Pillar_of_fire; 25 April 2014, 06:31 AM.

Today I got the third BIG Y result.
It was kind of strange, because I logged in exactly at the time they were uploading the data.
First I was surprised on the new haplogroup assignment on the home tab and went to check the haplotree and SNP. There were some SNP results...

I downloaded the BAM in less than an hour and bear in mind - I am in Europe and I my Internet service provider is in Europe (I did not use the corporate internet service that would have taken me to exit on USA located server)
At some points the speed was up to more than 700KB per se...

Tried again - Started to download just few minutes ago at the cosmic speed of 3.5KB per sec.
Ah-h- this brought me to 1995 when internet was only dial-up and under DOS.

I started the download at 9 am - which makes it 2am Houston - "remaining time to download three days". In fact it downloaded only 28MB after 3 hours and got stuck.
Then I restarted again after few hours - then it stuck at 38MB - after 4 hours stable download.

After all we have to remember that this was pre-order, it was at reduced price and the purpose of the pre-order is to check the process, identify bottlenecks...... see how long it takes from start to finish of the 'production process' and to fine-tune it - as every new process is set up there are always...
