website with age estimate for haplogroups?
About 4 months ago I used a website that showed the mtdna phylotree branches along with age estimates for each branch. I thought it was at phylotree.org but that only seems to list the branches and not the age estimates.
My google fu has not been up to the challenge today. Can someone...

Is it possible you are getting a double dose of the common ancestor's DNA because of subsequent cousin marriages?
I've got a situation like that where a predicted 4th cousin is actually a 7th. It's possible I haven't found a more recent common ancestor who is responsible for my 24cm block...

Understandiing Results
We're beginning to get results back from our first Y test which has the excitement growing.
We have two of our panels back and I'm trying to understand the results. I'm hoping someone can clarify.
On panell 1, DYS19 is listed with two asterisks (**) after it and DYS389II...

I meant that FTDNA should send an email when I have new FF matches instead of making me poll the site to look for them....

Can anyone interpret this message:
This was a mitochondrial FGS upgrade from HVR1+2. The statement above provides exactly zero to explain why we got pushed back from Aug 27 to Sep 17. Did it fail? Or did it simply not finish in time?...

My mom's full mito is in this batch and was "expected" by today. I guess that's looking less likely at this point.

I thought I had read an article making this claim but it must have been an oversimplification by the author. Thanks for the clarification....

How do we explain modern African populations not having the "neanderthal" DNA if we all share a common ancestor?...

In both cases the predicted relationship was 4th cousin. Total cm was 38.64 for the 7th cousin with a longest block of 24.42. Unfortunately, ancestry doesn't show the match details so I don't know what the lengths are for the 6c1r....

My only two matches where the relationship has been tentatively identified are both distant. For one, 7th cousin and the other 6th cousin once both removed. Both share the same common ancestor.
The predicted relationship was much closer.
The 7th cousin shared one 23cm...
