Real Cost of BigY

FTDNA does not alone anyone to order the BigY without first doing some
kind of STR testing at FTDNA.

Even at the sale price of the BigY ($475), you need to spend at least $59 more for the minimum STR test. (y12)

I have had the same experience with chip technology in general.
23andme and Geno 2.0 both reported erroneous results with regard
to yDNA and mtDNA haplogroups.

The shipping date of the Geno 2.0 NextGen is October, 2015 which seems to correspond with FTDNA's annual conference.

I was hoping that this NatGeo offering would include SNPs to cover
HVR1-HVR2, and that it would be transferable to FTDNA's database.

Only 3 pages of matches since the transfer was ordered June 9th.

This person is 1/2 colonial American, so there is a pile of matches missing for sure.
