Big Y - Was it worth it?

Genetic Genealogy is my hobby, I am debating getting the Big Y...
Is there anyone who regrets purchasing it?
Is finding your terminal SNP worth it?
Will there be any other benefits to me?

If you have manually entered your y-DNA at Ancestry.com you should go back and check your entries!

When you enter your y-DNA results at Ancestry.com they are supposed to adjust four of the values automatically to account for the different standards when determining marker values between...

On the other hand maybe the NPE's will be easier to find with everyone collaborating on one tree that also has DNA information connected to it.

If you look at most Ancestry trees people are just copying info from other trees and not all trees have the same ancestral trail once you get...

The thing I like best about wikitree is there is one big tree that every one connects to. There is only one profile for each ancestor and everyone contributes. So your tree connects into others and everyone shares information on their ancestors...

I need to learn from others how to keep records better. I have so many matches and I can't keep track of who matches who anymore, it gets confusing.... I used to put notes on peoples profiles but after the last upgrade half of my matches disapeared along with my notes.

They better give you a refund! SNP tests are simple and should only take a couple weeks... NOT 5 MONTHS!

I like getting X matches because it is easier to find a common ancestors when you can automatically cross off 60% of them right off the bat. You can also find matches further back in time.

I also feel your pain. My 111 upgrade has failed 4 times in the past 5 months...
It was ordered 12/11/12 in batch 494.
The new, new, new, new ,new due date is now April 29th

I couldnt find a phone number to call for customer service, only an email service. I emailed them last week and finally got a response.

" I have identified the issue that was holding up your 111 marker upgrade. It boiled down to a system error preventing our lab's software suite...

I have to complain about how many tests have failed over the past 6 months. I have no confidence in FTDNA anymore and it's obvious in reading posts on other websites that others are feeling the same way. There are also Geno 2 tests that have been failing since December so it's affecting their reputation...

We all ordered during the first part of December... I'm wondering if the "DNA Day" sale coming up in April will come and go before we get our results.
