Gedmatch - Cousin Match For Parents
i entered my dad's DNA info and my DNA info into Gedmatch. when i ran my dad's info into "cousin test for parents" his was 'zero', meaning his parents were not cousins. my dad is polish on both sides and my mom was ukrainian on both sides. looking at the info below, how many generations...Last edited by jilski; 10 March 2013, 06:14 PM.

Maternal Haplogroup R
my boyfriend got his results back from 23andMe and they said his haplogroup is maternal haplogroup R. there were no letters or numbers after the 'R'. his maternal line is siscilian, italian. could someone explain maternal haplogroup R to me? thanks...

I am "K1a1b1a" and have no known jewish ancestry (am Catholic) and have very few decl
i have posted on this before but have attatched my mitochondrial results from 23 and me. is this a definite ashkenazi line? if anybody could give me some insite i'd appreciate it!...

i had my DNA tested at 23 and me. i found out my haplogroup is K1a1b1a. i was very surprised by this as my mother's family is/were ukrainian greek catholics from the Ukraine/Galicia area. my maternal great great grandmother was definitely ukrainian and greek catholic. i have a family history manuscript...

my maternal haplogroup (tested at 23andMe) is K1a1b1a. i have no known jewish ancestry. my maternal side (my great great grandparents) were ukrainian greek catholics from galicia. my mom has only about 25 matches or so here on 'family finder'. all are distant or remote. i tested myself at 23andMe...

both of my parents (autosmal dna at FTDNA) and therefore myself (at 23 and me) are 100% european (no middle eastern, etc)! what does this say about my maternal k1a1b1a?

is 291 matches on relative finder at 23 and me a lot lower number then average? i'm thinking if my parents do not have many matches at FTDNA then my number of matches at 23 and me has to be on the lower end...?

wow, thanks for the responses! they give me a lot to think about... it is probably not uncommon for those whose ancestors came from that region to have some direct jewish relatives on some of their lines. another funny thing, my dad (polish catholic) has about 40 matches on FF and my mom (ukrainian...Last edited by jilski; 26 June 2012, 11:07 AM.
