Isle of Jura and Norse Ydna
I have confirmed my family coming from Jura, Scotland immigrating to North Carolina and to the Midwest where I live now. My Ydna is I1d1 P109+. Other than viking norse invaders what other people would of given me this norse haplogroup coming from that part of Scotland?

The Vikings on history channel is fantastic. Life appeared very rough and brutal back then. I have watched all 5 episodes and and getting hooked. Being my possible ancestors, I just cant believe the violent brutality these warriors possessed and am a little stunned their dna could be in my blood

Haplogroup I1D1 question
I am I1 P109+ and I just discovered my Paternal ancestor came from the island of Jura in Scotland to America in the 1750's. I know this is Norse, my question is wouldnt it mainly be Scandinavian Viking DNA signature? What other tribes could of giving me this haplogroup coming from the Isle of Jura?

Viking?
Hi,
I am I1d1 confirmed L22+, my paternal line came from Western Scotland back in the early 1700's to the U.S. My question is would that be highly suspicious of a Viking connection?
thanks

I am fairly certain they are not cousins, well in the last 500 years or so. I am also not Jewish so I guess it would be at outlier?

Thanks

At 2090 CM FTDNA suggests Half sibling, but this person I matched to says he suspects his brother as he was a musician traveling the world back then and was with a lot of women. SO, could 2090 CM still be uncle or is that way to high?
Also we are YDNA 67/67 so it is very cool!! and thanks for...Last edited by wilson; 18 March 2012, 05:52 PM.

The guy wants to know if I am brother our nephew, his mother is 90 and wants to know If I am her grandson before she passes, this is all crazy but it all happened this way, so only thing I can do beside the FF for her is to do this Grandparent test as we are looking for the quickiest results

Thanks Tick, I received these results from FF a couple days ago. I been talking to this person who lives 20 miles away. His deceased father or his living brother are the 2 suspects. More than likely his brother. This person's mother is 90 and agreed to test. So if I am related to her its her son and...Last edited by wilson; 18 March 2012, 05:33 PM.
