Not as many as I am sure most of us would like. According to this wikipedia article, http://www.isogg.org/wiki/Autosomal_...mparison_chart, over 1.5 million. Keep in mind many have tested with multiple companies (as I have done). I would think less than 1 million, all told. Hopefully, as...

I haven't been able to do even this. It appears the entire site is offline, or am I missing something?...

When you submit your BigY results for professional analysis (with a company such as YFull), they also provide an analysis of your mtdna. As for the Big Y test, I have found it to be invaluable. As someone whose only information about his paternal lineage (beyond my father) has been from genetic dna...

Working well for me as well. I too am a Tier 1 member. Maybe those on this level are having better success?

This has been my experience as well. The SNPs I share with two matches - one in particular - have moved my TMRCA to about 1500 years. The SNPs appear to have a higher confidence level....

If you can only afford one or the other, you will get more with Big Y, especially if you submit your results to a 3rd party like YFull or FGC, for a nominal fee. For example, YFull gave me 405 of my STR markers ( I already had 111 of them, as I have also tested at that level with FTDNA). Of course,...Last edited by muso; 29 September 2014, 05:12 PM.

Hi Susan. Exactly. My mother has tested, but not my father. I have been able to discern what matches come from my mother's or father's side with more certitude. I have some new matches and would love to use the tool. Hopefully, the issue will be fixed soon....

I sent a message to the help desk after encountering this comment at the website dnagedcom.com, "This feature is dependant on FTDNA servers. At this time, FTDNA is still throwing a disconnect when trying to run ICW data. I will continue to work with them to try to bring this feature back online."...

I have found the Eurogenes EU test to work very well for those who are of European descent.

I believe the vcf and bed files can be submitted to Chris Morley for analysis....

It works well if you have multiple accounts. My mother has tested as well. She and my father share some common ethnicity, so it can serve as a nice confirmation when you see segments you do and don't share.

That's ok. Easy mistake. I emailed the owner of DNAGedcom. He said things should be back to normal by Monday. I encourage all to try the site. It is very helpful....

I don't know how many of you have used this site in the past ( http://www.dnagedcom.com/ ). I have found it to be most helpful when it comes to sorting through my autosomal matches. I went to the site today and the site says that FTDNA autosomal dna can no longer be uploaded. This is most disappointing....

The tool approximates the sample populations with your results. So, the sample populations within the tool are crucial (and they can vary from tool to tool). Matching the specific populations doesn't necessarily mean that you have those actual populations in your ancestry, but an approximation ( that...
