Wrong DYS# in project
This may be a Max question. I recently have signed onto the Genographic project and one of the values are different from my FTDNA results. 389-2 on ftdna results value is 29, on the genographic project it says the value is 16...which is right? How can I change the results to the correct value on the...

Detemining haplogroup subclades
Hello,
I have just recently read on a post that someone was put into catagory (*)
The person is confused because of certain mutations he has suggests he should be in H5 subclade. I was determined and H7 and have 519c in HRV1 and no mutations in HRV2 would this not sugest that...

Thank you for your reply. After reading more closely, I realized you are right. Ken was not speaking of mtdna. I know not many that have been tested have come back as H7, but It has been about a year since I had the subclade test done and came back as H7. I know I have to be patient and take a "wait...

Hi,
This is what I read from the internet. I have read the other papers pointing toward the Iberian pn. Seems Norway , Sweden and Iberia are quite some distance away from eachother. I though by now my subclade testing would be pinpointed. ..Anyhow, here is the article:

mtdna haplotype subclade H7 Sweden&Finland?
I have just read a recent paper regarding subclades. It lists H7 as being from Sweden and Finland. This makes sense to me knowing a little about my maternal great-grandmothers background. Has anyone else read this?
Does FTDNA know yet if this is true? Any help would be much appreciated. ...

Haplotype H7 origin
Does anyone know if it is true that haplotype H7 is tested most frequently among Norwegians? I saw a paper pertaining to minor subclades and it appeared to be the case. Please correct me if I am wrong.

25/25 match, o genetic distance/different surname
We have a 25/25 match with a family named Cranford from MD or NC. It seems it is a very close match to all in the Cranford DNA project. In the 1800's my 3rd great-grandfather was down there duing the civil war (not his wife, just him). Might this mean anything? Our family is from Hingham, Ma.

Well, the word Shiksa It is defined in every single dictionary as a derogatory term used by Jews to refer to non-Jewish women.
I beleive the first post was made by a Jewish woman wondering why she had haplotype H..and wondered if a great great, grandmother was a "Shiksa"

Shiksa
Just a question, I was interested in this original post because of my H7 haplotype and many Ashkenazi matches. I wasn't sure what a Shiksa meant, so I looked it up..here is what I found :
Shiksa and Shaygetz are the Yiddish derivative of the respective
feminine...

Haplotypes and Ashkenazi
I am Haplotype H7, which has not been designated a region yet. Many of my matches however are not only English,Scottish..ect, but Romanian,German,Polish, Lithuanian..ect. My matches are mostly Ashkenazi. What might this mean? Could it be that my haplotype of H7 could be of Jewish origin, that perhaps...

reference page to sub-clades
Thank you.I have read the explanation sheet about haplotype H subclades. It makes no mention of H7. Hopefully in the near future, there will be an explanation for my designated Haplotype of H7.I will look forward to it soon.

Haplotype R1b and H1
I have read that R1b in ydna is roughly the same as H in mtdna. I have also read that H7 is a derivitive of H1, at least that is what I think I read....What I find odd is that since getting the results back from the haplotype refinement, I have a couple...
