    DNA profiles after death
Hi, I'm sorry if the answer is really obvious on the FTDNA site somewhere, but I have looked everywhere ... my father passed away recently and I am wondering what to do about his DNA profile (Y and FF). I have always administered it and any messages for him come to my email address but I am hoping there...

    2nd cousin on father's side an X-match?
I really don't understand the x-match. I mean REALLY don't understand it. My half- 2nd cousin and I are both females. Her grandmother and my father were half siblings(same father-different mothers). Her FATHER is my half 1st cousin. What does it mean that we are x-matches? ANY explanation...

YFull now clustering some SNPs based on STR results?
Happened to notice the charts for my "neighborhood" over on Yfull were reshuffled sometime in the past couple weeks, and the new entries/groupings are based on STR values mostly in the Y112+ range rather than SNPs themselves. I know some surname projects had already started doing this in some...

Using NON X-match strategy to Find MRCA
My mother is a match to KB as a 2nd-4th cousin in the FTDNA autosomal Family Finder match list.

I've strategized that if KB is NOT an X-match, then I can rule out any lines that contributed X to my mother. Attached is an image of the Xlines I've ruled out because they are X-matches to...

    Unable to upload raw data
This may have been asked somewhere on here but I can't find it.

I have been trying to upload raw data from both Ancestry and 23andme. It just won't work. What am I doing wrong? The files are in .txt (Ancestry) and .csv (23andme). I don't know if this is the issue or if I need to convert...

    FTDNA upload to MyHeritage
I uploaded a FTDNA raw to MyHeritage in September last year, no problem. Two new kits failed last week due to, I presume, changes in the formatting of the raw files at FT. Is there any indicator of a timeframe for a fix for this issue by either testing service?...
