How long has your family lived in Mexico? There has been immigration into what is now the country of Mexico from different parts of Europe (not just the Iberian Peninsula) since colonial times.

Most people in Mexico or of Mexican descent these days are not indigenous but rather mestizo, meaning they have a mixture of indigenous, European, and African ancestry. This study was made by Mexico's National Institute of Genomic Medicine.
