  • myOrginis Jewish community - Mizrahi Jewish?

In principle the Jewish community divided to three big diaspora.
    1. Ashkenazi
    2. Sephardi
    3. Mizrahi
(and of course there are another small diaspora)

myOrginis ethnicity calculator determine only Ashkenazi and Sephardi diaspora, but why they are not interested to include Mizrahi also?

When I transfer my raw data to MyHeritage, they determine me as Mizrahi Jewish, because their ethnicity calculator have Mizrahi Jewish DNA database.

So, in my point myOrginis is more exactly at this moment.

sevi: Which Mizrahi community do you belong to?

I have seen autosomal DNA results from Mizrahi Jews from Iraq, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan.

It is not simply a matter of interest. It is difficult to get a 'pure' Mizrachi sample, certainly not in Israel. There are even doubts about MO's Sephardic sample. At this point, Atzmon's findings are probably the most appropriate. They are part of Gedmatch's Eurogenes analysis

I think its not a big deal to get shared autosomal of all Mizrahi.
As project admin I can see that Mountain Jews have very tight FF matches among them, but also few matches between Iran/Iraq Jews.

        What are Atzmon's findings?

See Gedmatch Eurogenes spreadsheet for profiles of Iranian and Iraqi Jews from Atzmon. The big deal is to find Mizrachis who have not intermarried with other Jewish groups or non Jewish 'host' groups.

                          Musayev,

Mountain Jewish language "Juhuri" is more archaic than Tat language. So, I think Mountain Jews aren't speak in their language, they are both have the same geographic source of their language(Middle Persian).

Thank you for correction.I know that fact. You use more Hebrew words.
Naming of Mountain Jews as Tat was mistake of Soviet scholars
