My mother shows 2% Central/South Asian on the new MyOrigins. I show 100% European but have shown small amounts of Asian on other admixture tests. So far as I can tell my Mom is British isles. Clearly the DNA is hinting at something else. Roma perhaps? Specifically her Asian is tagged as "Eurasian heartland"

Hi. South Asian could be just that a South Asian Pakistan Iran Afganistan origin but for sure South Asian is a good sign of Romany/Roma/Sinti origins, if you have South Asion Eastern Europe is a sign.Originally posted by 1_mke View Post -

She was adopted but I have a pretty good handle on both her maternal and paternal sides going back a few generations. They appear to be Scottish and English (She was born in London) primarily so the first and third populations make sense. The North Med. Basin and South Asian seem anomalous but I haven't seen many UK results yet so maybe North Med. isn't unusual?Comment

Here are my results:
The only admixture tool I can find with a Roma population sample are MDLP World and MDLP World-22, and with those, my kit doesn't seem to have a discernible Roma signature.Comment

My father is English Rumneychal Gypsy my mother is Scottish here are my
MDLP World 22 oracle 4 results.
English Gypsy tested so far on the whole are mostly European admixture but almost all have shown a little South Asian. My kit no is here see if we match?

It seems clear there is something going on here in regards to her having some none UK admixture. The woman I've identified as the most likely candidate for her mother may have been the granddaughter of the couple who raised her (they had two daughters in their late teens/early twenties living at home at the time). If that is true then her mothers paternal side is unknown.Comment
