  • I know a select few have seen the new results. I would just like to see a before and after.

    • Just checked and no new Pop Finder for me...sigh. I really wish they would make an announcement or something.

      • If it really wasn't going to be launched today then they should have quashed rumours that it was and given an actual date or range of dates.

        • My guess is that they are too busy dealing with and fixing the fallout from the new Y tree. I don't expect to see the new Family Finder for at least another month and based on past performance I don't expect it to be reliable for two or three months after that.

          • The new PF is probably nothing to write home about anyway. I just want to see if I still get that "Middle Eastern" result.

            • Haha, AJohnson, I'm not so sure about that. I wrote home about my 6% ME result and now several other family members want to get tested to find out where it comes from.

                • Posted in the ISOGG Facebook group 30 April 2014 about 9 p.m. EDT ...

David Mittelman: "I apologize everyone for providing the wrong info. We are rolling out in beta mode but it will be a little longer before everyone sees the release."

                  • Who is David Mittelmann and why is this information being given to ISOGG Facebook group members rather than to FTDNA customers through the appropriate channels?

                    • David Mittelman, chief scientific officer of Gene By Gene, of which Family Tree DNA is a part.

I wish they would post information on the FTDNA website or here in the forums, there are still people who don't/won't use Facebook.

Thanks for the reference. Elhaik's finding re Khazars is contradicted by around 6 studies including those of Doron Behar, Atzmon &... Ostrer (leading researchers on Jewish genetic disorders) and the National Geographic Lebanese team of Hader and Zalloua.

                        • I have 5% ME as does my cousin.

I wonder if this will remain after the update?

Be good to know which chromosome this is on and who we both match?
Also if these matches have ME too?

Yep, and I'm one of them!

                            • I do use Facebook and am a member of the ISOGG group but I have not seen the Mitelmann post that is referred to here. Is it possible to volunteer to be a beta-tester?

Elhaik's recent study seems OK but Dienekes' critique makes sense. Dienekes appeared to be more concerned about not being given a citation.
