    Family Tree DNA
Not today, but as soon as we're able to announce the release date, we'll let you know!

So I guess what we're really waiting for is a release date announcement =/

"The feature is complete and in beta testing with a limited audience. If there are no bugs or concerns everyone will be getting the new experience as early as next week."

So I guess we will have to wait until next week. Members of the "limited audience" please give us a preview.

Indeed! As author of the original Pop Finder, I'd sure love
a peek. I promise not to blab anything to anybody, even FTDNA.

LOL, you are funny Dr. McDonald!

Ok, so this was posted on Anthrogenica. If this is really it, it looks pretty cool. See post #46.

myOrigins, our new version of Population Finder, is launching very soon! It will be available for FREE to everyone that has purchased a Family Finder test. Get ready to dive into your ethnic origins like never before!

With myOrigins, you'll be able compare your ethnicity with your Family Finder matches. If you want to share your ethnic origins with your matches, you don't need to take any action. You'll automatically be able to compare your ethnicity with your matches when myOrigins becomes available. This is the recommended option.

However, we do understand that sharing your ethnicity with your matches is your choice so we're sending you this reminder in case you want to not take part (opt-out). To opt-out, please follow the instructions below. *
              Click this link.
If you are not logged in, do so.
Select the "Do not share my ethnic breakdown with my matches. This will not let me compare my ethnicity with my matches." radio button.
              Click the Save button.
You can get more details about what will be shared here. You may also join our forums for discussion.

LOL! Quite right. This is like waiting for the birth of a baby already. Then again that would come faster.

At least with a baby the docs can induce labor. PF has been in beta for how many years?

                      • Are a lot of people opting out?
No. So far, only 1% of the users that have taken a Family Finder test have decided to opt-out.

So 1 % got the ethnic bar stopped in the first
Place? Glad they did now looking forward to the new

If I read this correct, of European ancestry you have according to this map most ancestry from Sicily(the darkest red)?

Would be interesting to know the ancestry/ethnicity of that person.

Could be Turkish or from the Caucasus, depends on what that green spot in Turkey represents in the breakdown. The Mediterranean/Northeast Europe/East Asian looks about right for someone from the Turkey-Caucasus region, maybe even Ukraine.
