New Matches Coming In

I was hoping we'd get some new matches today before the start of the long holiday weekend. None of my kits have received any new matches since June 20.

Heh..lucky you.. I haven't seen a match since April. :-)

I just rec'd one, dated July 5, first match since June 2. I now have a total of 120 matches.

A few more Nordic matches

No new matches for me but my father received a Norwegian match and my mother, a Swedish one. Both dated July 4.

I got one today dated 5 July. I don´t understand why there is often a gap between the match date and the date the match appears. This just adds an extra complication to keeping track of matches.

Two new matches dated 4th of July (now 434). Both are deep colonial low level matches. One gives a list of surnames, which includes "Middleton". Am I related to Kate? (ha ha).

Three new matches, all 5th-to-distant with no or low information. Are these all the matches we're going to get from the June sale? Fewer, not more, than usual? And, frankly, I'm tired of low- or no-information matches, and repeats of the same old family groups.

Sorry to sound so sour, but I'm feeling really discouraged.

I received 8 new matches while my half-sister received 6. Only 2 matches were shared. Most 5th to remote with a couple of 3rd to 5th. Nothing for me to get excited about!

there seems to be issues across the board..... My FF test was received on the 5th June and I still haven't had results, but others in my batch are receiving results today so there seems to be no pattern to when test results come in which means there seems to be no pattern then to when matches come up....

I think the size of the FF database is why the different dates, it takes a few days for system to run through new kits. Each new kit has to be run against each kit in database. Some maybe run one day, some the next. Once all new kits are run against database, they are then added to everyones homepage (match list).

Maybe they should just put the match date on all new kits with the date they update personal match page lists, instead of date that match was found when run through database.

That's just my take on why the different dates... right or wrong. Either way it is not an issue for me...

I manage the kits of 5 family members. Only one of them, a double 1st cousin, got one new match. But not counting family members, it's her 3rd closest match, a predicted 2nd to 4th cousin.

I got my first match since June 20th. Only one and no gedcom, unfortunately.

For those waiting for the June sale results, they aren't up yet. I ordered my dad a kit in the beginning of June and he is batched in 577. I ordered a test for my son during the sale and he isn't even batched yet. Hopefully at the end of the summer we will get loads of matches.

Don't forget a lot of those sales kits would have been sold overseas. That means longer to receive the kit and longer to send it back, I have two that aren't even marked up as received back yet. So I think the sales kit test results will be coming back over the next few months, they won't all come back at one time especially as some testees probably don't send them back straight away either.

Both of the kits I referenced previously were sent to Ireland. The second isn't batched yet and hasn't even been logged as received. It was purchased during the sale. I don't expect much movement on either before the end of August.

I ordered 1/2 dozen FF kits for relatives in Australia. I have only received one so far...
I then have to take or forward the kits to different relatives for swabbing.
I doubt any will be back in Houston before August at the earlist
A relative in the UK, emailed me today to say he has just received his and sent it back.
