    Hi,

I will have someone check on Monday. Hopefully, we can get it fixed this week, though we have a bunch of people out for the holidays.

    • I new match dated 10 Dec 2013, rec'd today. Now have total of 91. That said, it is another match I have elsewhere. It would be nice to get more matches that aren't dupes from other sites or companies, but that is not FTDNA's fault.

          • I'm glad people are getting matches. I have not had a new one since Nov. 25,2013. I was starting to think something is wrong. I do wonder why for the past month my kit says last closest match 07/06/2012. It always said 12/16/2012 when my known cousin tested. The other date is when I received my results.

Also any word about where the X chromosome matching is? Some of the news that came out of the FTDNA conference sounded like it would have been here by the end of December. PF update I thought the date of today Jan. 2 was mentioned too?

            • X-matching was 1 Jan, obviously running longer than expected. No updates that I've seen. PF update was not given a specific date.

Thanks, for some reason I have today's date stuck in my head in regard to this. Anyway I sure hope we see something soon with both. I have been looking forward to it!

                  Hi,

You have today's date in your head, because that is what we said. The 1st was a Holiday. We love you guys, but Information Technology staff are a little pricey to have work time and a half on a Holiday to push code that can wait a day.... :-D

I am working on the release notes now! X-Matching, here we come!!!

                        • I have 2 new matches in FF. I recently clarified in my profile that I'm just a loser and am not looking for living relatives (just ancestors). But they still give me new matches. Anyway, one of the two gives a list of surnames, but I only see it down thru the d's. Apparently some of those names go back to Medieval times, as I recognize a couple from an alternate line that I dropped. Makes me wonder if I should've stayed where I was. That (female) line goes back to Ireland. I changed it so as to go back to King John. We are talking ruling class here (knights, barons and earls).

If I were to take the easy lazy way and follow majority entries at Ancestry, my putative direct maternal line went back to O'Toole in late 1000's Ireland. In that case, maybe Peter O'Toole is a distant cousin. The sticking point was: who was the mother of Isabel Cornwall born about 1348 (I think it was). I tentatively settled on Maud(e) Le Strange, daughter of Fulk Le Strange. The Irish line has the mother as Maud(e) Le Strange, but daughter of Roger Le Strange (or anyway a different Le Strange father).

aside observation: I saw somewhere in my snooping for ancestors that the Lincoln tree is somehow connected to the Le Strange line. That's Abraham Lincoln. It was an early connection a few generations after the Norman invasion (1066). I don't recall where I saw that tidbit.
