New Matches Coming In

3 new matches for me (up to 148), after a dry spell of about a month. One has nice gedcoms for maternal and paternal lines. The other 2 have not listed surnames ond one of those is predicted to be a 3rd- 5th cousin. Have written to all 3 to see if we can figure out how we connect.

Looks like another batch of results was uploaded on January 27th. My wife had two news matches and I had just one this time round. My parent’s samples were rec'd on 30th but have not been batched yet.

Nothing new has come in for me since 1/27. I am hoping that we start seeing some new matches from the 23andMe uploads later this week. Not sure but this would be the second week since people started uploading. I hear that there have been thousands who have taken advantage of the upload offer, so I am hopeful that we start seeing more matches soon.

Four worthless HVR1 MtDNA matches from people only testing HVR1 ..ARGH! No new FF matches. I guess I'm just seeing HVR1 mtdna matches from those who got the simple mtdna test with FF. Hopefully some of those people will order MtDNA FGS upgrades.

No new matches for me since 1/20. I usually get one or two new matches about once every 4 weeks. Now up to 89.

No new FamilyFinder matches since mid-January for me. Perhaps a few mitochondrial and Y low level matches but that is all. I did get an interesting update from one of the volunteers of a project though so that was good. And I always appreciate all of your posts in the forums. Hopefully, new FamilyFinder matches will start to come in today.

They seem to come in batches for everyone. For me, working backwards, the dates were:

12 Dec 2011 (only 1, usually 7-20 range)

I expect the holidays pushed things around a bit, but roughly every two weeks. I expect another "drop" any day now.

Whole bunch of new matches dated 2/9 and 2/10

All 4 of the accounts I manage got FF matches, anywhere from 3 to 10, all dated 2/10. Also got a couple of distant Y-DNA matches dated 2/9.

None of the names in the FF matches look familiar, so I'm assuming these are holiday sale FTDNA kits, not transfer kits from 23andMe.
